Dark witches tomb hogwarts legacy8/25/2023 Most damning of all, though, he was perfectly willing to leave Ginny to die in the Chamber of Secrets, all just to protect his false reputation. He wasn't even capable of casting Expelliarmus in the duel with Snape, and more competent witches and wizards embarrassed him at every turn. None of his DADA lessons taught students anything about DADA, the tests and quizzes were all about him. He was a thief, a talentless hack barely capable of casting simple charms, and he was a great pulsating narcissist. How many lives do you reckon he ruined with his memory charm? In order to achieve his success, he actively stalked successful witches and wizards, got them to tell him their stories, then obliviated their memories and wrote their stories into successful books. Lockhart, while not a murderer, was a coward and a liar. As a matter of fact, Quirrel had no qualms about murder. He let the troll out on Halloween, both as a distraction to allow him to try for the Philosopher's Stone and in the hope that it would murder students, particularly Harry. Quirrel was faking his anxiety so that people would not suspect him of any wrongdoing. True, there is a bit more gray area with those two, but the books are fresh in my memory and evil comes in many forms. Snape straight up abuses students, Malfoy is a pretentious, spoiled little richie rich racist, Crabbe and Goyle are lumbering oafish bootlickers, Voldemort becomes the Wizarding World equivalent of Hitler, Bellatrix is completely mad and tortures people for fun, etc. Is there ever a kind Slytherin character in the story? I can only think of Slughorn, every other Slytherin is a raging asshole. Nobody ever says Cedric or Tonks (both Hufflepuffs) were evil, but characters like the Dursleys, the Malfoys, and Umbridge are almost always in the top 3 of any top 10 list of the evilest Harry Potter characters. Compassion is also antithetical to evil as evil is generally depicted as being full of malice and hatred. They have some of the most heroic and desirable traits outside of Gryffindor. Everyone keeps going on about Hufflepuff producing a dark wizard/witch because 'beware the quiet ones,' but they're not quiet. Hufflepuff values compassion, hard work, loyalty, patience, and a strong sense of justice. For example, if a man is wise, what reason does he have to make an enemy of his peers by trying to become a tyrant? Evil acts are often committed by emotional impulses. All of which are positive traits, several of which are antithetical to evil. Ravenclaw values wit, intelligence, creativity, wisdom, cleverness, etc. Chivalry especially is antithetical to evil, which is by nature not chivalrous. Gryffindor values bravery, courage, and chivalry. The entire reason he built the chamber of secrets was to hide away a dangerous beast for one of his descendants to find, release, and use to commit a wizard holocaust after his friends ostracized him for his views.Įach of the houses also embodies and values specific traits, which means nine times out of ten specific people get sorted to specific houses. Slytherin himself was a racist prat who wanted to commit eugenics and cause genetic stagnation based on his medieval concept of blood purity. And you can tell who belongs to the bad team because they're all some combination of fat, ugly, and covered in snakes. There are no good and bad people in the wizarding world, just good and bad teams. Slytherin, because that's the way Rowling wrote it.
